Travis & Company Completes Two Searches for Not-for-Profits

From time to time, we step outside of our industry focus to help worthy not-for-profit institutions. Recently, Travis & Company had an opportunity to recruit key executives for two not-for-profits that are making a difference in their communities.

Our first client serves a large city in the Northeast and was one of the first organizations in the country formed to protect women from domestic violence. We assisted in the hiring of an executive director and recruited an associate director in a regional search that required extensive networking with leaders in the field of domestic violence, crisis intervention, and other services for battered women. We were able to attract an outstanding professional with management skills and experience as a social worker for victims of domestic violence.

Our second client, a state department of education, sought a director of adult education for an expanded adult literacy program. The new director's charge was to bring together programs linking literacy to workforce initiatives and economic development statewide. We conducted a national search and attracted a leader in the field to this highly visible position.
